The electric trolleys are here

In 2016, the municipality of Rüdersdorf near Berlin adopted the integrated climate protection concept as a guideline for reducing greenhouse gases, which are mainly responsible for climate change. The conversion of motorised private transport from CO2-producing combustion engines to CO2-neutral means of transport plays a major role in reducing climate-damaging CO2 emissions.

The municipality of Rüdersdorf has now made a start with the purchase of an all-electric car and a hybrid car. Both cars have been on the road for the municipality for a few weeks now and are at least reducing daily CO2 emissions. Both new cars are becoming increasingly popular with the administrative staff.
The E-Golf has a range of up to 230 kilometres. This car is used for the shorter, more frequent trips.
The hybrid car has a range of up to 1000 km thanks to the combination of an electric motor and a combustion engine, but only consumes 2-3 litres of petrol per 100 km. For short journeys of up to 50 kilometres, it can even drive purely electrically, i.e. without CO2 emissions. After that, it automatically switches to the combustion engine during the journey if the battery is empty.

However, the whole thing still has one flaw. The necessary charging points are still missing. The charging points will soon be installed in both Building I and Building II. Until then, the cars will be charged using a makeshift solution in House I so that the administration can already get off to a fully electric start despite the lack of charging points.
Incidentally, one charging point is planned for both House I and House II. The charging station in House I with an 11kw charging point is only accessible to the municipality. The charging station for House II, on the other hand, will have 2 charging points with 22kw each, so that one of the two charging points can be used by the public and the other for the municipality's electric car. All major credit cards can be used to pay at the public charging point. We hope that the charging points will be ready for use by the end of September.
