Apply for confirmation of the installation site for play equipment

    • In order to be permitted to install gaming machines that offer the chance to win, the suitability of the installation site must be assessed.
    • Under Section 33c of the Trade Regulation Act, proof must be provided for each location where gaming machines offering the chance to win are installed, confirming that it is suitable for this purpose. Such a certificate of suitability issued by the relevant local authority is a prerequisite for the installation of gaming machines offering the chance to win.
    • Under Section 1 of the Gaming Regulations, gaming machines offering the chance to win prizes may, in principle, only be installed in the premises of pubs or restaurants where food and drink may be consumed on the premises, in accommodation establishments, amusement arcades and similar establishments, as well as in betting shops operated by licensed bookmakers.

    • Before installing gaming machines, an application must be made to confirm that they are suitable for the location.
    • Applications must be made in writing.
    • When setting up in restaurants, the restaurant operator must hold a restaurant licence.
