    Mit dem vorläufigen Personalausweis können Sie die Zeit bis zur Ausstellung eines regulären Personalausweises überbrücken.

    Your temporary identity card is valid for a maximum of 3 months.

    Sie müssen den vorläufigen Personalausweis zurückgeben, wenn Ihnen der neue reguläre Personalausweis ausgehändigt wird.

  • Required documents

    • biometrisches digitales Passfoto: angefertigt vor Ort in der Behörde oder von einem registrierten inländischen Fotodienstleister (Fotografin oder Fotograf)
    • falls vorhanden und noch nicht entwertet: alter Personalausweis oder Reise- oder Kinderreisepass (gültig oder bereits abgelaufen)
    • falls kein gültiger Reisepass oder Personalausweis vorhanden: Geburtsurkunde, gegebenenfalls Heiratsurkunde
    • for children under the age of 16: if necessary, a declaration of consent from the parent with custody who is not present
      • If there is only one parent or legal guardian, additional proof of custody

    Sie können einen vorläufigen Personalausweis unter folgenden Bedingungen beantragen:

    • Sie besitzen die deutsche Staatsbürgerschaft
    • Sie sind in Deutschland gemeldet
    • Sie besitzen keinen gültigen Personalausweis
    • Sie benötigen dringend ein gültiges Ausweisdokument.

    You must apply for the temporary identity card in person.

    • Apply for the temporary identity card at the citizens' office at your main place of residence.
    • If you do not apply for your temporary ID card at your main place of residence, you need an important reason. Please contact your chosen Citizens' Registration Office to find out whether they will recognise your reason.
    • Das Bürgeramt stellt Ihnen in der Regel den vorläufigen Personalausweis sofort aus.
