Every person entitled to vote is automatically entered on the electoral roll. The electoral roll forms the basis for the proper conduct of the election. It ensures that only those entitled to vote take part in the election and cast their vote only once. It is drawn up on the 42nd day before the election. Every person entitled to vote who is resident in the electoral area is automatically entered in the electoral register by the second day before the election at the latest.

A register of eligible voters is maintained for each electoral district. The electoral register forms the basis for the proper conduct of the election. It ensures that only those eligible to vote take part in the election and cast their vote only once. It is drawn up on the 42nd day before the election by automatically entering all eligible voters whose main residence is registered in the electoral roll within the electoral area. If you have become eligible to vote after the 42nd day before the election by moving into the electoral area, you will also be entered automatically. You will receive a polling card once you have been entered on the electoral register.
Erfolgt jedoch nur ein Umzug innerhalb der Gemeinde, dann verbleibt die Eintragung im Wählerverzeichnis des ursprünglichen Wahlbezirkes. Findet jedoch ein Umzug in einen anderen Ortsteil statt, in dem ein Ortsbeirat oder Ortsvorsteher gewählt wird, dann werden Sie ebenfalls in das Wählerverzeichnis von Amts wegen eingetragen.

Prerequisites
You are considered a returnee if you
- do not yet have their main residence in the electoral area,
- Ihr Wahlrecht verloren haben, weil Sie aus dem Wahlgebiet weggezogen sind oder
- Ihren Hauptwohnsitz verlegt haben, und wieder ins Wahlgebiet zurückkehren und Ihren Hauptwohnsitz erneut begründen.
Procedure
Sie werden bei Zuzug von Amts wegen in das Wählerverzeichnis eingetragen. Über die Eintragung werden Sie mit einer Wahlbenachrichtigung informiert.
