Christmas time in our community

In the parish of Rüdersdorf near Berlin, there are a number of events in the Advent season that are now beginning and will increase the anticipation of Christmas. We provide an overview of the most important events in the coming weeks:

Hennickendorf Christmas Market
When? 2 December 2023, 2 pm
Where? Schoolyard of the primary school Am Stienitzsee, OT Hennickendorf, Bahnhofstraße 39, 15378 Rüdersdorf bei Berlin
What? Last year's cosy Christmas market will be repeated. The gates open at 2pm in the schoolyard of the Grundschule am Stienitzsee primary school. Father Christmas collects the wish lists and a colourful stage programme provides entertainment. Many of the school's classes set up a stall and sell lovingly crafted items, baked goods, books and toys etc. to top up the class funds. Many traders have also registered to sell pottery, wood art, knitted and crocheted items and many other gift ideas.

Christmas tree singing Herzfelde
When? 2 December 2023, 5-7 pm
Where? OT Herzfelde, Lindenplatz, 15378 Rüdersdorf near Berlin
What? This year, the district of Herzfelde gets in the mood for the Advent season with the Christmas tree singing with brass music on Lindenplatz. There will be mulled wine, children's punch, bratwurst and warming fire bowls accompanied by Christmas carols.

"Silent Night" - the Rüdersdorf Christmas concert

What? Join us in welcoming the most sensual time of the year with singing, poetry and Christmas sounds. This Christmas concert will feature familiar Christmas carols as well as a wonderful mix of professional artists and local talent who want to ring in the bells of the festive season with you. Musically, there will be the most beautiful German Christmas carols - and you are cordially invited to sing along. There will also be a short trip around the world to the Christmas season in other regions of the world.

Christmas tree lighting by the Hennickendorf local fire brigade

What? On the 1st Advent, the Hennickendorf local fire brigade's support association cordially invites you to a light-up event. Father Christmas has registered and food and drink will be provided. In addition to bratwurst, mulled wine and waffles, there is much more for young and old.

Rüdersdorf Christmas Market
When? 9/10 December 2023, 1pm-8pm, Sunday until 6pm
Where? Museumspark Rüdersdorf, Heinitzstraße 9, 15562 Rüdersdorf near Berlin
What? As every year, the Museum Park opens its gates festively decorated on 9 and 10 December to welcome visitors to the Rüdersdorf Christmas Market. With its fairytale-like design and traditional atmosphere, the park offers many highlights, big and small.

LICHTenow

What? On the second weekend of Advent, LICHTenow in the church in Lichtenow will be all about Christmas.

What? Let yourself be enchanted during the Advent season when the Hennickendorf folk choir invites you to a pre-Christmas concert in the Hennickendorf church on 2 Advent.

Leona Heine - Christmas concert

What? The Christmas concert by local hero Leona Heine is something very special, because Leona is a Christmas fan through and through. That's why she always writes her own Christmas songs. Her concerts around the fourth Advent have now achieved cult status in the region, so the singer/songwriter always comes up with images and stories to accompany her performances, mixing soulful covers with her own songs. The Christmas concert at the Kulturhaus is an event for the whole family, naturally with lots of traditional Christmas songs to sing along to. The large hall will be festively decorated, an Advent Sunday for the heart. Admission: €22, children up to 12 years: €14
