Paving the way for new projects in the Märkische Seen LAG

On 14 November 2017, the board of the Local Action Group (LAG) Märkische Seen e.V. carried out the 8th project selection procedure of the current funding period 2014-2020 and enabled 16 further projects to apply for funding from the EU LEADER funding programme.

In this funding period, the Märkische Seen LAG has a total of € 18 million in EAFRD funding from the European Agricultural Fund at its disposal, which is partly co-financed with funds from the state of Brandenburg. This sum is to be used to fund suitable projects over at least 2 annual funding deadlines with separate budgets until 2020.
17 projects with a total investment volume of just under € 6.1 million applied for the 8th funding deadline with a planned funding volume of € 2.5 million. As part of the project selection process, 16 projects were approved for funding. This clears the way for applications for renovation costs for the village churches in Hasenholz and Prädikow, the Kneipp education and creativity centre in Buckow and the renovation of the shells of larger buildings in Buckow and Müncheberg. The municipality of Grünheide wants to remodel the hotel on Lake Peetzsee to make it barrier-free and a Kneipp centre is to be set up in Wendisch Rietz. The town of Storkow and the municipality of Garzau-Garzin are planning to invest in rural road construction.

A total of 82 projects with a total investment volume of almost € 25 million have been launched to date. The complete list can be found on the LAG website.
Project promoters who wish to submit a project for funding by the next deadline of 15 February 2018 should contact the administrative office in good time to clarify the general conditions of the process.
