The Public Order Office has recently received several reports from members of the public that poisoned bait has been laid out. Dogs that have eaten this have subsequently shown signs of poisoning. The local authority has also been informed of cases where dogs have, sadly, not survived the poisoning.
We would therefore like to urge all residents to be extra vigilant when walking their dogs. Please keep an eye out for your pet sniffing or attempting to lick any suspicious objects. Cases involving sausages laced with rat poison and nails have been reported.
To be on the safe side, we recommend keeping dogs on a lead when outside your property or home.
The Public Order Office has identified the residential area around Brückenstraße and Friedrich-Engels-Ring as a key location where the bait has been found.
If you spot any suspicious objects, you should call the police so they can assess the situation on the spot. You can reach the police on 03341/3300 (Strausberg police station) or via the emergency number 110. We also ask you to inform the police if you notice any suspicious behaviour by individuals (e.g. emptying bags or similar items outside the rubbish bins, etc.)
You are also welcome to make use of the mobile police station service provided by the Rüdersdorf local police. This is available every Thursday (except 6 May 2021) from 10:00 am to 12:00 pm in the car park opposite Friedrich-Engels-Ring 16-21. A prior appointment is required.
The contact persons are Senior Police Inspector Mr Templin, who can be reached on 03341 / 330-1045, and Senior Police Sergeant Ms Biallas, who can be reached on 03341 / 330-1051.
If your pet has been affected by poisoned bait or is suffering from, or has suffered from, confirmed poisoning, please report these circumstances to the police.
