Update - State government agrees on opening steps

Update, 7 March 2021: With amended 7th SARS-CoV-2 Containment Ordinance.

In a press release, the state government informs about the opening steps planned from 8 March 2021 from the current lockdown. The legal basis will be created with the 7th SARS-CoV-2 Containment Ordinance.

Excerpts from the state government's press release:

"The lockdown to combat the coronavirus pandemic will be extended until 28 March. At the same time, however, the first opening steps are being taken. [...] Brandenburg is thus implementing the framework agreement reached by the Conference of Minister Presidents (MPK) with the Federal Chancellor on Wednesday into state law.

The most important points are

  • Private gatherings are possible with your own household and one other household, but are limited to a maximum of five people. Children up to the age of 14 are not counted.
  • School: For grades 1 to 6 at primary level, lessons began on 22 February 2021, alternating between face-to-face and distance learning. From 15 March 2021, lessons will then also take place at secondary general schools, sixth form centres, second-chance schools and special schools for learning, physical and motor development, vision and hearing, alternating between face-to-face and distance learning.
  • Retailers previously affected by the closure order may open for appointment shopping ("Click & Meet"). However, this is limited to one customer or one household per 40 square metres of sales area or part thereof. Necessary: Prior appointment booking and contact tracing.
  • DIY stores can open.
  • For garden centres and florists, the 50 percent rule on outdoor sales space no longer applies. This is particularly important for smaller flower shops.
  • Body-related services such as beauty parlours, tattoo parlours and tanning salons can open under certain conditions. If a mask cannot be worn, customers must present a current confirmed negative COVID-19 rapid test or take a self-test on site.
  • Non-contact sport with up to ten people in documented groups is permitted at all outdoor sports facilities. Children and young people up to the age of 14 are permitted to play sport together in a group of up to 20 people (plus supervising staff).museums, memorials, galleries, planetariums and public libraries may open subject to conditions (e.g. prior appointment).
  • Emergency brake: If the 7-day incidence exceeds the value of 200 for at least three days in a district or district-free city, stricter contact restrictions and measures will be imposed again. [...]"
