The topping-out ceremony for the four-storey extension to the Gerichtslaube building in Schulstrasse took place on Wednesday, 24 July 2013. The 38 barrier-free two- and three-room flats of the "Seniorenzentrum am Kalkgraben" are due to be completed in the coming months and will therefore be ready to move into. The first tenants are expected to be able to move into their new home as early as September.
Thanks to the dedicated investors, Joachim Hummel and Holger Thiessen, many historical elements have been preserved.
The future residents are already looking forward to their new home, which also includes a communal room, an exercise pool and a senior citizens' café.
Antje Kircheis in particular, who is moving into the retirement centre with her husband, can hardly wait to move in, as she has actively supported the development of this residential project from the very beginning.
