New photo exhibition in the town hall

On 11 March 2014 at 15:30, the opening ceremony of the photo exhibition on the subject of "Nepal" will take place. This exhibition will be presented as a joint exhibition by Nepal travellers Fred Günther and Eva Näther. After the opening, both artists invite you to two interesting lectures with visual material about their journeys to this fascinating region at 4.30 pm in the council chamber of the town hall.

Both travellers love the mountains. Fred Günther, a 70-year-old amateur mountaineer, took the opportunity to gain his first experience of 3,000 metre mountains immediately after the fall of communism. He has already climbed the "Gross Glockner" in Austria and would like to climb the "Wildspitze" with its imposing glaciers, which is only slightly smaller than the former, in the near future. "To see Mount Everest up close" was a wish he fulfilled on his first expedition to Nepal, from which he left these wonderful impressions, which he is now sharing with us in an exhibition in the town hall. Mr Günther has already climbed a 4,500 m mountain in India and would like to continue travelling to the tremendous beauty of these heights as long as his health permits. Nepal will be at the top of his travel list again in the future.

After the passionate mountain hiker Mrs Eva Näther and her husband Dieter Näther had already hiked the Alps, the High Tatras and the Dolomites, the desire to explore an 8,000 m high mountain range grew. The new dream destination was Nepal in South Asia. After her first trip to Nepal, Mrs Näther developed a great love for the country and since then she has travelled there five times with her husband. During her travels and individual hiking tours through the majestic mountains with "Nepali guides" and porters, she marvelled at the unique nature and experienced great moments with locals and interesting people. She captured her moments and impressions and presents them in an exhibition in the town hall.
