On 28 June 2016, Mayor André Schaller welcomed numerous new residents to the Herzfelde community centre. A brief welcome was followed by the village leaders and local heritage organisations, who informed the new residents about community life.
There was a brief overview of the many opportunities that the municipality has to offer. These include the numerous clubs, the many leisure activities, the museum park and cultural highlights in the "Acropolis".
Two portals that were given special consideration were the MAERKER citizen portal and the Rüdersdorf geoportal, which are now very popular with citizens.
In between, there was enough time to ask questions to the representatives of the municipality. Various information materials such as booklets, brochures and flyers were also available.
Welcoming new residents is a permanent fixture in the community and is not only intended for "newcomers" - long-standing residents of Rüdersdorf are also welcome guests to exchange ideas and get to know each other.
