The mayor of the town of Bernau bei Berlin, Mr André Stahl, the project manager of the core team, Ms Klingelstein, and the Municipal Application Centre (Kaz) of the Brandenburg IT Service Provider(ZIT-BB) invited all municipalities in the state of Brandenburg to an information event on the Maerker project.
This invitation was accepted by 60 participants already taking part in the project or interested in the project. After a welcoming address by Mr Stahl, Ms Rühling from Rüdersdorf near Berlin explained the processing of a Maerker notification from receipt by the editor to final processing. Mr Strache then explained to the participants how to use the app and the advantages for citizens and their own administration. Mr Mekelburg from the city of Bernau bei Berlin then explained how the new "text modules" function makes processing easier.
The most extensive part of the event was the open discussion round with various Maerker municipalities. The moderator, Ms Kümpel, office manager of the Potsdam-Mittelmark district administrator, interviewed three very different Maerker municipalities. Mrs Jura, Mayor of Perleberg, Mrs Labus from Brieskow-Finkenheerd and Mr Mekelburg from the host town of Bernau bei Berlin answered the questions. After just a short time, all participants were part of this exchange of experiences and shared their experiences or asked their questions.
The final part of this event consisted of a look back at how Maerker came about, a look at the current status of Maerker with 85 participating municipalities and almost 50,000 citizen entries and an outlook on future developments.
All in all, it was a very successful event with many interested people who rated the programme as informative and entertaining.
