District trains youth leaders

The youth welfare office of the district of Märkisch-Oderland is once again training youth leaders this year. After successfully completing the training, participants receive the "Juleica" youth leader card. This is the nationwide standardised ID card for volunteers in youth work.

The training takes place over three weekends at Münchehofe Youth Hostel in Märkische Schweiz and is aimed at volunteers in clubs and initiatives aged 16 and over who look after children and young people during their holidays and leisure time.

Over three weekends, participants are taught the basics of the requirements and tasks of a youth leader. The correct way to deal with children and young people is also presented in the numerous modules. Legal issues are also covered in the training programme. The fulfilment of the duty of supervision and youth protection regulations are just as important aspects as endangering the welfare of children. The training content gives the youth leaders confidence in their actions in these areas.

Participation fees of 30 euros are charged for the entire training programme. For pupils, students and job seekers, the participation fee is 20 euros. The first module will take place from 02.03. to 04.03.2012. The registration deadline is 01/02/2012.
