On 29 September 2011, the Rüdersdorf municipal council decided that the library in the Hennickendorf district would move to the "Am Stienitzsee" primary school building. This was preceded by a lengthy discussion about various locations.
With this resolution, the administration now has the task of creating the necessary conditions for the library's relocation next year. This will require various repair and painting works in the rooms as well as the purchase of new shelves for the children's book section. The financial resources will be allocated in the 2012 budget. Once the budget has been approved, the preparatory measures for the move will begin.
The opening of the library in the new premises will certainly not take place until spring or summer next year.
