Litter notes in the letterbox or baskets in front of the house often indicate illegal waste collection. Please do not support these collections!
At the moment, there are a lot of flyers and leaflets in letterboxes about collecting old household appliances, shoes and old clothes. They announce at short notice that items that are no longer needed, such as old electrical and electronic equipment, scrap metal, clothing, shoes, porcelain, cosmetics, etc. will be collected as part of a street collection. Although the exact day and time by which the items are to be provided are stated in the notice, there is no indication of the person or persons responsible.
These calls are mostly illegal collections of waste. Their sole aim is to get hold of profitable and suitable recyclable materials; in many cases, less worthwhile items are left by the roadside or are later found as illegal waste dumps in the forest.
Please do not support the illegal collectors.
In the district of Märkisch-Oderland, there is no reason to participate in these illegal collections anyway, as the disposal of waste from private households is ensured throughout the district.
If you have any questions about the recycling and disposal of waste, the waste advisory service of the Märkisch-Oderland waste disposal company will be happy to help you on 03341 354 7013.
