Construction work on the near-natural play and exercise area is scheduled to begin on 2 May 2016 and is expected to take two months.
The design of the area was developed in autumn 2014 with children, young people and adults from the residential area in an extensive participation process. It will not be designed as a traditional playground in order to take into account the residents' need for peace and quiet. Instead, in addition to play and exercise elements for younger children, such as a climbing tower, an amphitheatre and a willow tunnel, it also includes seating and recreational facilities for all older residents of the residential area.
The company Garten- und Landschaftsbau Pachmann GmbH from Schöneiche has been commissioned with the construction work. Unfortunately, it will not be possible to use the pavement and steps in the area during the construction phase due to the renovation work. There will also be a parking ban for some parking spaces around the area for the construction site access road and the delivery zone. After completion, the area will be officially opened. The site will be operated by WBG Rüdersdorf GmbH.
A usage regulation to be developed with the young and older residents will also regulate the coexistence on the site so that all users can enjoy the diverse offerings on the site for a long time.
