On 15 June 2012, the opening ceremony of the 19th Brandenburg Seniors' Week took place from 12:00 to 15:00 in the Rüdersdorf Kulturhaus. Under the motto: "Growing old in Brandenburg - active, self-determined, in solidarity", the Chairwoman of the State Seniors' Council, Prof. Dr Sieglinde Heppener, the Brandenburg Prime Minister Matthias Platzeck, the Mayor of Rüdersdorf André Schaller and District Administrator Gernot Schmidt opened the week-long event. This was followed by musical performances by various artists from the region and an award ceremony for deserving senior citizens by the Minister President and Prof. Dr Heppener.
We would like to take this opportunity to thank the Seniors' Advisory Council once again for their commitment in organising and running the event.
