Opening of two new sections of the 66 Lakes Hiking Trail

Two new sections of the 66 Lakes Hiking Trail were opened on 7 November 2011 at 10.00 a.m. on the corner of Vogelsdorfer Straße and Heinitzstraße in Rüdersdorf near Berlin and then at the Wachtelturm.
The first trail now runs alongside the museum park and no longer along the busy Ernst-Thälmann-Straße, which was less attractive.
The rerouting of the second path in Hennickendorf now leads directly past the Wachtelturm and represents an additional highlight along the entire section of the route.
Mr Manfred Reschke, who had the honour of cutting the ribbon for the opening of the path on Heinitzstraße as the founder of the 66 Lakes Hiking Trail, praised the new route with the words: "Without much exaggeration, it has become one of the most beautiful sections".
