The flat fire on Brückenstraße around 10 days ago once again demonstrated the great willingness of the people of Rüdersdorf to help. The firefighters rescued those in danger and extinguished the blaze quickly; the Rüdersdorf Museum Park provided shelter for the affected families and launched an immediate appeal for donations, which many local residents responded to; and Mrs Steffen opened the clothing bank that very evening and on Saturday, providing for both people and pets. A donation account was even set up in the neighbourhood. The Rüdersdorf Housing Association quickly organised new flats. “My heartfelt thanks go to all of you!” said Mayor Sabine Löser as she presented a small token of appreciation to Ms Steffen from the clothing bank on behalf of everyone.
