Ladies, take note: from 6 to 10 March 2017, the ZAB Arbeit division of ZAB ZukunftsAgentur Brandenburg GmbH is organising a counselling week specifically for women to mark Brandenburg Women’s Week. Although fathers are increasingly taking on responsibility for bringing up children, it is still mostly mothers who face the major challenge of balancing work and family life. Between 8 am and 4 pm, advisers will be available via live chat to answer questions free of charge on all aspects of further training – from returning to work and career progression to career reorientation. Advice will also be provided on organising and planning parental leave, as well as on returning to work. This includes all the latest information on the new partnership bonus, which is designed to support mothers in a smooth return to work.

The Brandenburg Continuing Education Team and the Workplace and Parental Leave Service Centre form part of the ZAB Work division and are funded by the Ministry of Labour, Social Affairs, Health, Women and Family using funds from the European Social Fund and the State of Brandenburg. Weiterbildung Brandenburg provides information and advice to individuals and businesses on continuing vocational training in the State of Brandenburg – not only to women but to anyone else interested in further training. The training advisers offer support in deciding on a career goal, as well as in selecting and undertaking the appropriate qualification. In doing so, they take into account the personal and family circumstances of those seeking advice: there is a wide range of courses available which can be completed, for example, on a part-time basis or via distance learning, offering flexible timings and the freedom to study from anywhere. Together, suitable educational pathways and appropriate funding options are identified.
The Workplace and Parental Leave Advice Centre advises companies and (expectant) parents on maternity leave, parental leave – including how it can be arranged with or without parental allowance – and returning to work.
