On 10 September 2012, construction work will begin on the approximately 100-metre-long section of Neue Vogelsdorfer Straße between the residential area and Vogelsdorfer Straße. The works will involve the resurfacing of the carriageway, the pavement, the parking spaces, the storm drainage system and the street lighting. In addition, a new bus turning loop will be constructed on Vogelsdorfer Straße, for which the Märkisch-Oderland district has provided public transport funding. Neue Vogelsdorfer Straße will be completely closed during the construction period.
Access to the residential area is provided via a temporary construction road. This runs parallel to the existing road, alongside the garages.
As the car park in front of the Sperlingshausen nursery cannot be used during the construction work, visitors to the nursery are asked to use the car park in front of the former department store, which is approximately 150 metres away. With the full closure, the glass and used clothing recycling bins will also be moved towards the old department store. Everyone involved in the construction work is endeavouring to keep disruption to a minimum.
