Current status of road construction in the town centre

Asphalt will be laid on Hans-Striegelski-Straße (base and surface course) and Straße der Jugend (still outstanding half-sided base course) from 18 to 20 August 2014. The road will be open to traffic again the following week.

There will be one last major restriction at the Schulstr./Hans-Striegelski-Str. junction when the 30 tonne sand trap, which cleans the rainwater before it is discharged into the Kalkgraben, goes into the ground at the junction. Here too, the utility companies will take the opportunity to coordinate the necessary relocation of their pipes. The traffic routing for the duration of this work is currently being coordinated with the road traffic authorities. There will be traffic light control.

In the area of Straße der Jugend, work is now underway on the future wider footpath and cycle path. Land had to be acquired for this. In the area of the embankment, extensive earthworks and relocation of the media carriers will begin next week, so that the pavement between the streets "Kalkberger Platz" will be realised last. We are on schedule. In autumn, the planting work will be carried out, e.g. 5 trees of the "Echter Rotdorn" variety at the town hall.

Just in time for school enrolment, the end of the holidays and the start of the school year, part of the diversion (past the library) will be removed and we will be entering the home straight of the overall construction project (Straße der Jugend).

It is being built by the local company Wolter Bauunternehmung GmbH and the engineering firm Wosnitza & Knappe is supervising the construction work.
