On 12 October, the municipality and Kultur GmbH celebrated the diamond jubilee of their "Acropolis" in the Rüdersdorf Kulturhaus in a colourful, cheerful and lively atmosphere. Many well-wishers from the worlds of politics, business and culture were in attendance - and of course many Rüdersdorf residents. Mayor André Schaller and the managing director of Kultur GmbH welcomed everyone to the packed hall for the ceremony. Many companions came to offer their congratulations, including 95-year-old Ilse Panzer, who as cultural representative gave the house its name "Martin Andersen Nexö".
It was also a special honour for singer Dagmar Frederic, who serenaded "her" house three times, to present Mrs Panzer with the flowers of thanks. A surprising highlight for everyone was the presentation of a new chandelier: the trade association had secretly collected over 6,000 euros from the local business community and installed an impressive crystal chandelier. Such chandeliers are normally borrowed for gala events, which is why it was not noticeable that one was hanging in the hall so shortly before the Operetta Ball on 15 October. When it came to the head of the trade association Peter Simsch's turn, he had all the lights in the hall switched off and presented his gift to the Kulturhaus to great applause.
100 years older than the house was another jubilarian in the hall: the Bergkapelle Rüdersdorf accompanied the evening with big band sound - a small foretaste of 5 November, when the band will give its celebratory concert in the Kulturhaus.
