So far, work has been carried out on Hauptstraße and Rüdersdorfer Straße in Herzfelde as well as on Karl-Liebknecht-Straße, Woltersdorfer Straße and Marienstraße in Rüdersdorf. Work will continue in Herzfelde in the coming week.
But what exactly are banquets?
The verge is the area at the side of a road between the carriageway and the adjacent grass verge, footpath or ditch. These areas fulfil important functions: Among other things, they ensure drainage of the carriageway, stabilise the edges of the carriageway and contribute to road safety.
The aim of the current verge renovations is therefore to maintain the drainage function, protect the edges of the carriageway and restore the stability of the verges.
In the area of Marienstraße in particular, it became apparent that the verges had been pushed up over many years and had partially grown over the kerbs. At the same time, pavements became increasingly overgrown, so that the usable walking surface became narrower and narrower. This was clearly visible in Karl-Liebknecht-Straße in Rüdersdorf, for example, where only two rows of the original four rows of paving slabs were still usable.
We ask all residents for their understanding for possible restrictions during the work.
