Road closure Berliner Straße

Construction work on Berliner Straße in Hennickendorf (B1/L233)

Information for neighbours from STRABAG AG:

At the end of the 21st calendar week (18-22 May 2026), preparations will be made for the necessary traffic safety measures and road closures for the construction section of Berliner Straße between Friedrichstraße and Bergstraße.

The work will begin on 26 May 2026 with the removal of the existing asphalt pavement and will also include the fundamental new construction of the carriageway, the pavement, adjustments to the junctions / access roads as well as ancillary and green areas.

The properties in question will then only be accessible on foot until further notice. Where necessary, we ask that you park your vehicles before the above-mentioned date (26 May 2026; 6.00 am) outside the construction site and away from your properties, making use of nearby parking facilities where possible. You may park your vehicles free of charge in the car park on Ringstraße (opposite the fairground). Berliner Straße, from Bergstraße towards the B1 (Frankfurter Chaussee), will remain open to traffic. The junction of Ringstraße with Berliner Straße will be closed (dead end), whilst the junction with Friedrichstraße will remain open.

Recyclable waste collection (residual waste, ‘Yellow Dot’ items, paper, etc.) will continue to be collected as usual; however, please ensure that your bins are placed at a collection point accessible to the waste collection service – at the start or end of the construction area mentioned above (in this case, Bergstraße and the junction with Friedrichstraße) – and, where possible, left there permanently. To avoid any mix-ups, we recommend that you label your bins.

If you have any questions, please speak to the site personnel on site!

We thank you in advance for your understanding of the unavoidable restrictions and circumstances in the course of construction work.

Additional information dated 18 May 2026:

The works will be carried out whilst the road is completely closed, as the carriageway is being completely rebuilt across its entire width and the drainage systems running transversely beneath the carriageway also need to be replaced.

Access for the fire service and emergency services will be ensured throughout the construction period. In urgent cases, emergency vehicles will, of course, be directed through the construction site where possible or granted access to the properties concerned.

The construction project is scheduled for completion on 31 August 2026. Local residents will be informed in good time of any changes to the schedule.
