Rüdersdorf near Berlin is boosting volunteering through digital means: the local authority warmly invites all volunteers, members of local organisations and interested residents to the launch of the local authority’s revamped volunteering platform.
Following its initial launch last year, the platform has been extensively developed and significantly improved in collaboration with Neuland 21 e.V. New features – such as those for communication, event organisation and membership management – now make it even easier to make volunteering visible and effective online.
The volunteering platform (accessible via the Rüdersdorf app or directly at ehrenamt.ruedersdorf.de) is a central digital hub for everyone involved in community work in Rüdersdorf:
- Clubs and groups can create their own profiles, publish events and organise their members.
- Committed individuals can find up-to-date events, support services and opportunities to connect with others.
- The platform offers data protection-compliant communication via chat, group features and posts – and is easy to use on a smartphone, tablet or PC.
Whether you’re on a club’s committee, part of a neighbourhood initiative or simply new to volunteering: everyone who is committed to a vibrant and engaged community life is welcome. Young people in particular who are looking to get involved in volunteering for the first time are warmly invited to explore the platform and start networking straight away – just as long-standing volunteers who are seeking access to new people or better networking opportunities are.
