Applying for an extension of the travelling trade licence

    If you want to be self-employed in the travelling trade, you generally need a travelling trade licence.

    You are engaged in a travelling trade if you offer your services or goods outside your commercial establishment without a prior order or carry out an entertaining activity as a showman or showwoman or in the manner of a showman or showwoman.

    For example

    • as a showman or showwoman,
    • as a "travelling salesman or saleswoman" or
    • as the owner of a market stall.

    The travelling trade licence is generally valid indefinitely. However, it may be issued for a limited period if this is necessary to protect the general public or consumers.

    If you have a temporary travelling trade licence and wish to extend it, you must apply to the competent authority.

    • Travelling trade card
    • Identity card or passport with registration certificate
    • Certificate of good conduct for submission to an authority (document type OG)
    • Information from the central trade register
    • In the case of legal entities, documents must be submitted for all persons authorised to represent the company in accordance with the law, articles of association or partnership agreement
    • If applicable, an extract from the commercial register or register of associations, if the company is entered in the register;
      • for GmbH & Co. KG corresponding extract
    • only for activities with open food or dishes: Certificate from the public health department confirming instruction in accordance with the Infection Protection Act or official health certificate

  • Prerequisites

    Your temporary travelling trade licence will expire shortly.

    Für die Verlängerung der Geltungsdauer (§ 55 GewO) werden in Brandenburg 50 Prozent der Tarifstelle 2.2.9.1.2 berechnet (vgl. Tarifstelle 2.2.9.2 der Anlage zur Gebührenordnung des MWAEK).

    The competent authority for processing the application is the trade office of the office, the independent municipality, the association municipality, the co-administering municipality, the co-administered municipality or the independent city in which you have your habitual residence or in which the future business will have its registered office, Section 1 (1) of the Ordinance on Responsibilities in Trade Law (Trade Law Responsibility Ordinance - GewRZV).
