Allow inspection of the electoral roll for local elections

    Anyone who believes that their details on the electoral register are incorrect – either because they have not received a polling card by the 21st day before the election, or because the details on the polling card are incorrect – is entitled, on working days from the 20th to the 16th day before the election, during normal opening hours, to check the accuracy of their details by inspecting the electoral register.

    If you have reason to believe that the details relating to you in the electoral register are incorrect or incomplete, you have the right to inspect the electoral register on working days from the 20th to the 16th day before the election during normal opening hours. There are grounds for concern if you have not received a polling card by the 21st day before the election, or if the personal details on your polling card are incorrect.

    Identity document, or, where applicable, polling card

  • Prerequisites

    The voter must be eligible to vote.

  • Procedure

    In-person registration at the electoral commission.

    In order to verify the accuracy or completeness of the details of other persons entered in the electoral register, persons entitled to vote are only entitled to inspect the electoral register if they can provide credible evidence of facts which may indicate that the electoral register is incorrect or incomplete.
