Founding year
Football has a long tradition in Lichtenow and Kagel. Football was played in both towns even before the start of the Second World War. After the end of the war, the two sports clubs SG Kagel 1948 and SG Lichtenow 1948 were re-established and later merged to form BSG Traktor Lichtenow/Kagel. At the beginning of reunification, the club took on its current name: SG Lichtenow/Kagel.
