On Tuesday, 29 May 2012, the community bus - a VW van - was handed over by the sponsors to the citizens' office of the municipality of Rüdersdorf near Berlin.
Until recently, the community bus was sponsored solely by the Erkner & Sohn car dealership, which is now being supported by Vattenfall Europe New Energy Ecopower GmbH.
Mayor André Schaller thanked the sponsors for their commitment. In particular, he emphasised the importance of the van for the community's clubs. They mostly use it at weekends, for example to get to event venues or to go on a longer excursion.
The clubs can borrow the bus at any time by arrangement with the Citizens' Office, which coordinates the allocation of the bus. The prerequisite for this is that it is a club from the municipality of Rüdersdorf bei Berlin and its districts and that the driver has a valid driving licence.
Without the help of the two sponsors, this great support for the clubs would not be possible.
