For some time now, the bridge over the Kalkgraben has been narrowed to one lane. This is due to damage to the eastern crossing structure, which poses a considerable potential hazard when driving on it.
For this reason, an appointment was held on 27 October 2023 with the company carrying out the construction work at the time, the planning office and the municipal administration. During this meeting, the parties involved agreed that the planning office would carry out a damage investigation to clarify whether it was a defect in the workmanship of the company carrying out the construction work or another defect. The office was also asked to develop possible solutions for remedying the defect.
The results of this investigation have been available since December. According to this, the defect was caused during the construction of the transition structure and during the repair of the damage that first occurred around two years ago. From the point of view of both the planning department and the municipal administration, this is a warranty claim against the construction company. In December 2023, the construction company was requested to remedy this defect professionally and definitively as part of its warranty obligation.
Having the damage rectified by a third party is not a possible option at the present time. The warranty claim expires if a third party intervenes in the building. For this reason, all deadlines for enforcing the warranty claim against the construction company must currently be adhered to.
The restrictions on the Kalkgrabenbrücke will therefore remain in place until further notice - however, we urge you to rectify the situation as quickly as possible and thank you for your understanding.
