At the Green Week, the Oder-Spree Lake District was awarded 2nd place in the pro agro marketing prize for its late riser tours. The "With two trams around the lake - late riser tour" and the "Through the natural idyll of Lange Dammwiesen and to Stienitzsee - late riser tour" also lead through the municipality of Rüdersdorf near Berlin and are not only recommended for Berliners.
Press release of the Oder-Spree Lake District:
With its "late riser tours", the Oder-Spree Lakeland Tourism Association wins second place in the pro agro marketing award in the "Rural and Nature Tourism" category. At the International Green Week, Managing Director Ellen Rußig and marketing employee Marie Kessler accepted the award from Agriculture Minister Axel Vogel and pro agro Managing Director Kai Rückewold on the first day of the trade fair.
The adventures for the well-rested, which have now been awarded the silver medal, went on sale last spring after extensive conceptualisation. True to the motto "The early bird can kiss my arse", a total of 33 late-riser tours were developed, which take tired city dwellers out into the water-rich lake district in the afternoon using public transport. The half-day tours can be done by bike, on foot, in a canoe or on a SUP and are both relaxing and energising. The late riser tours make an important contribution to the networking and visualisation of regional providers and producers along the routes.
"Regionality and the support of our producers are particularly important to us, so we always endeavour to ensure that our products benefit not only tourists, but also the people of Brandenburg themselves and bring added value to our destination," says Ellen Rußig.
Third place in this category also went to the Oder-Spree Lake District. The Oderbruch Municipal Cultural Heritage Consortium was delighted to receive the award. This honours the long-standing commitment of the cultural heritage initiative made up of volunteers, which led to the award of the European Heritage Label in 2022.
The pro agro association received a total of 36 applications in the three categories of rural and nature tourism, direct marketing and the food industry.
The Oder-Spree Lake District is presenting itself until 29 January at the trade fair for food, agriculture and horticulture in Brandenburg Hall 21.a. The team is supported by regional partners such as the Fürstenwalder Brauereimuseum, Landfleischerei Ranzig, DEKAFFEE-Rösterei from Erkner, Findlingshof Strausberg and the Artprojekt Group with its restaurants and cafés.
