Time and again we receive complaints from the individual districts about unpleasant odours -
increasingly from Hennickendorf. The causes and sources of odours can be varied. Both the composting plant and the biogas plants can be the cause, as can the disused landfill site in Bergstraße once the flame has gone out. Odours from the WSE sewer system during prolonged drought or from the surrounding fields during periods of fertilisation can also affect well-being. The source also usually varies depending on the weather.
Only with the help of an odour log can we subsequently find out where the odours came from. On the basis of as much detailed feedback as possible, we would like to try to find a long-term and sustainable solution - for this we ask for your help, as a kind of volunteer sniffer.
