Since 1 January 2024, the basic fee for passport applicants aged 24 and over has been €70.00.
Information on the expiring children's passport
Children's passports may no longer be reissued, extended or updated from 1 January 2024. Valid children's passports can continue to be used until the end of their printed validity and then expire.
Identity cards can be used as identity documents for children (from infancy) if only travelling within the EU is planned. If travelling outside the EU (also: Great Britain) is planned, each child - as well as the parents - needs a regular passport.
