Town hall exhibition on the results of the Schinkel competition

From 22 August 2022 to 7 September 2022, the next town hall exhibition of the municipality of Rüdersdorf bei Berlin (Hans-Striegelski-Straße 5, 15562 Rüdersdorf bei Berlin) will be on display during the normal opening hours of the town hall. The results of this year's Schinkel competition will be presented in large-format pictures. Under the motto "Ressource Rüdersdorf - neu aufgegemischt" (Resource Rüdersdorf - re-mixed), the Architects' and Engineers' Association of Berlin-Brandenburg (AIV) called for new ideas to be developed for the site of the former feed phosphate factory. Participants were given tasks in the fields of architecture, civil engineering, urban planning, landscape architecture, transport planning and fine arts.
Some of the designs that emerged were utopian, but others were very practical and adapted to the challenges of our time and the specifics of the municipality of Rüdersdorf near Berlin.
The Schinkel Competition, which was held for the 167th time, is one of the best-known and oldest competitions for young talent in Germany. The Schinkel Festival with all the awards was originally planned for the end of August, but was postponed by the AIV due to the coronavirus pandemic. Representatives of the AIV will be on site for a finissage on 6 September 2022 from 4 p.m. in the council chamber of the town hall. Interested citizens are cordially invited to attend.

Mayor Sabine Löser comments on the town hall exhibition:
"It was a great honour for me that the prestigious Schinkel competition was held in the municipality of Rüdersdorf near Berlin this year. I was delighted to see the enthusiasm with which the participants viewed our town and the potential they discovered, beyond the usual ever new and yet the same residential development.
I am therefore delighted that we can now present some of these visions for the site of the former feed phosphate plant in our town hall - I cordially invite you all to be surprised by the ideas."
