In 2010, the municipality of Rüdersdorf near Berlin is celebrating its 775th birthday. To mark this very special occasion, the municipality is being given a logo that will be used on flyers, buttons etc. in Rüdersdorf and its neighbourhoods throughout the entire festive year and is intended to spread good cheer. At the New Year's reception on 22 January 2010, Mayor André Schaller and the festival committee presented the motif on a large screen and received enthusiastic applause from those present. The motif is based on six individual motifs that were created at the municipality's schools as part of the "My Rüdersdorf" painting competition last autumn and were then put together to form a whole. Mr Sebastian Steinberg is responsible for the graphic design of the logo and its realisation. Understandably, it was only possible to select a few motifs for the logo, which was very difficult given the sheer number on offer. It shows the things that make Rüdersdorf so unique: the Museumspark, the Kulturhaus, the Wachtelturm, the Kalkberg church, the bell tower in the Museumspark and the Tram 88. In addition to the main logo, the municipality has also selected various smaller logos with individual motifs, which can then be used by the relevant institutions and facilities.
Of course, it would be a shame to withhold the many other beautiful paintings and drawings from the public. That is why the works will be exhibited in various public institutions in Rüdersdorf next April.
All participants are winners, that much is already clear. The municipality is overwhelmed by the many works of art that were submitted.
The municipality would like to thank all participating artists for their creativity.
