For the 13th time in this form, the municipality of Rüdersdorf cleaned itself up a week before Easter. Armed with bin bags, more than 200 hard-working hands helped to remove rubbish, litter and bulky waste from all parts of the town at 25 different locations. There were fewer volunteers than last year, but perhaps one or two will join in again next year.
In order to maintain the established order throughout the year, the disposal of bulky waste, used glass, hazardous substances etc. is precisely regulated in the district of Märkisch-Oderland. All types of waste that can accumulate in a household and the various disposal methods are summarised in the waste calendar.
After completing their work, the helpers were able to enjoy coffee and cake, sandwiches, grilled sausages and pasta with tomato sauce on the grounds of the Protestant church community centre.
My thanks go to all the hard-working helpers, the many volunteers and supporters. The same applies to the municipality's building yard and public order office staff.
