To mark the first anniversary of the care support centre, there will be plenty to see and hear about care and social issues on Wednesday, 18 April 2012 at the district administration office in Strausberg, Klosterstraße 14, House 4.
On this day, visitors can expect an interesting programme with information on the topics of living arrangements in old age, options for quick help, maintenance in the event of need and the work of self-help groups. From 8.30 a.m. to 3.30 p.m., staff from the care support centre, contacts from the consumer advice centre and representatives from self-help groups and welfare associations will be available to answer questions and talk to visitors.
The following counselling services will be presented:
09.30 Regional contact and information centre for self-help (REKIS) and presentation of individual self-help groups
11.00 A.m. Forms of housing in old age - your rights around the contract
13.00 Pursuit of maintenance - children for parents according to SGB XII
14.00 P.m. Home emergency call - possibilities for quick help
Lutz Amsel, Deputy District Administrator and Head of Department II:
"In the past year, it has become clear that the care support centre is used intensively as a point of contact for advice by people in need of care or their relatives and that we have closed a gap in advice with our service.
The care support centres work according to the principle of competitive neutrality. A care counsellor and a social counsellor make up the counselling team. The citizens of the district could be helped with their need for care and the associated social problems. The specific services used range from brief telephone enquiries to individual counselling sessions at the care support centre and visits to the homes of those affected. The focus is on home care and respite services. Cooperation with professional and volunteer helpers has been established."
