From today, 9 November 2021, Karl-Liebknecht-Straße will be fully closed on weekdays from 7.00 a.m. to 5.00 p.m. on the section between Potsdamer Platz and Woltersdorfer Straße.
Outside of this time, the section of road can be used with the help of traffic lights. The full closure of the section between Fürstenwalder Straße and Potsdamer Platz will be cancelled.
The section will be passable for emergency vehicles at all times . The same applies if you want to pass the construction site on foot or by bike. The disposal of waste is secured and has been clarified with the responsible waste disposal companies.
At the same time, a further full closure is necessary until the end of the construction work in Hans-Schröer-Straße between Friedenstraße and Potsdamer Platz for the construction of a deep shaft structure. Traffic to and from Hans-Schröer-Straße must be routed via Friedenstraße during this time. Friedenstraße was provisionally repaired and straightened before the closure began.
Altenaer Straße can only be reached via Potsdamer Platz and the S-curve towards Herzfelde during the full closure from 07:00 to 17:00.
After thorough examination, the closures are unfortunately unavoidable ( we have already provided separate information on the background to this on our website). According to current planning and subject to the development of the weather, the work is expected to be completed by Christmas 2021.
