Seventy participants from five federal states accepted the invitation of the mayors of the municipality of Rüdersdorf near Berlin, Mr Schaller, and the town of Ludwigsfelde, Mr Gerhard, to the motorway conference on 25.11.2009 in the cultural centre of the municipality of Rüdersdorf near Berlin. In addition to Mr Böttcher from the Brandenburg Association of Towns and Municipalities, the participants included other mayors, representatives and affected parties from other towns and municipalities as well as experts from the transport sector.
The conference was organised in collaboration with the planning office Dr. Hunger (SVU) in order to pave the way for towns and municipalities affected by motorway noise to find a common approach to tackling the problem.
It has not yet been possible to agree on a position paper or demands for reducing motorway noise.
A follow-up conference will be held in Ludwigsfelde in March 2010 in order to sign a joint paper.
Presentations from the events will be posted as pdf files for download on the municipality's website in the next few days.
