Press release 7/2022 of the district of Märkisch-Oderland
The Brandenburg Ministry of Health has announced the first delivery of the Nuvaxovid® vaccine from Novavax by the federal government for the 8th calendar week. The delivery will initially only be made to hospitals, districts and independent cities.
The district of Märkisch-Oderland is expected to receive 2,300 vaccine doses initially.
The district administration is currently preparing for the first vaccination campaigns with this vaccine. Interested parties can register at the e-mail address

report. Interested parties will be informed as soon as the location and date of the vaccination offers have been determined.
Two vaccinations three weeks apart are required for basic immunisation, and the vaccination offers will be aligned accordingly.
The district of Märkisch-Oderland will offer employees in healthcare and nursing facilities a vaccination offer with the Nuvaxovid® vaccine, as vaccination will be mandatory for them from 15 March 2022 in accordance with Section 20a of the Infection Protection Act. A prerequisite for vaccination with Nuvaxovid® is therefore an employer's certificate confirming compulsory vaccination. A corresponding form can be downloaded from the portal www.brandenburg-impft.de.
Under certain conditions, deviations from the requirements are possible, depending on the vaccine quota and the level of demand of the prioritisation groups.
Note:
Employers are not obliged to release unvaccinated employees from work immediately on 15 March 2022 in accordance with Section 20a IfSG.
As long as the procedure for the activity ban has not yet been completed, affected employees may in principle continue to work in the facilities.
