On Saturday, 10 May 2025, the mayor Sabine Löser and the chairman of the municipal council Sven Templin invite you to the 4th Rüdersdorf Spring Reception on the market square. The event will be framed by the May market, which will be attracting visitors from 9 a.m. with regional products, culinary specialities and handmade gift ideas. The SNATCH jazz band will get the party started at 10 am.
While small gifts for Mother's Day can be purchased at the May market, the spring reception offers an entertaining programme.
It starts at 11 a.m. and offers citizens the opportunity to talk to local politicians, find out about current urban developments and look back and forward together with the municipality. Toast with sparkling wine and juice and prepare your own fresh drinks on the municipality's smoothie bike. Mayor Sabine Löser and Sven Templin, Chairman of the municipal council, will open the event, followed by a look back at the year 2024 and an outlook on future projects. The spring reception will be accompanied by live music from Rüdersdorf singer Sandra Würtz.
This year, the municipality's volunteer fire brigade and its three local brigades will be honoured for their tireless efforts. The lifesavers will be presented with a very special gift. For the youngest, the fire brigade will be bringing their bouncy castle and an emergency vehicle.
Another highlight is the insights on the Day of Urban Development, which also falls on 10 May this year. Dr Schieferdecker from Brandenburgische Stadterneuerungsgesellschaft mbH (BSG) will provide expert information on current and planned measures in the municipality. This is a good match, as the Rüdersdorf market square is one of the key core projects that was built with urban development funds. Today it provides a worthy setting for the spring reception.
As an additional offer for interested guests, there will be a free guided tour of the Kulturhaus with the mayor and architect Katja Melan at 2 pm.

Background:
The spring reception has been an annual highlight in the events calendar of the municipality of Rüdersdorf near Berlin for four years. It replaces the usual New Year's reception. Born as an open-air event in times of Corona, it is now a good setting that attracts many hundreds of people from the community every year in combination with a colourful regional market. This year, the spring reception is being organised as part of the nationwide Urban Development Day. The Day of Urban Development Promotion is a joint initiative of the Federal Ministry of Housing, Urban Development and Building, the federal states and municipal umbrella organisations.
