Information for expectant and new parents

If your child was born in our municipal area, the birth must be reported to the registry office in Rüdersdorf bei Berlin within 7 days so that the birth can be registered.

If your child is born at the Immanuel Klinik Rüdersdorf, the written birth announcement will be sent to our registry office automatically.

You can also hand in the necessary documents there. These will then be sent to the registry office in Rüdersdorf near Berlin by courier together with the birth announcement.

The documents submitted will be checked and the notarisation of the birth of your child will be prepared.

Costs

  • Costs are charged in accordance with tariff items 12.4.1 and 12.4.4 of the Annex to the Ordinance on Fees for Public Services in the Ministry of the Interior and Local Authorities' Business Area (Fee Schedule of the Ministry of the Interior and Local Authorities - GebOMIK)

You will receive three birth certificates free of charge from the registry office in Rüdersdorf bei Berlin for submission to the authorities when applying for child benefit, parental benefit and maternity benefit from the health insurance fund.


Necessary documents

The registry office in Rüdersdorf bei Berlin requires the following documents to certify the birth of your child:

  • original birth certificates of both parents
  • Copy of identity cards or passports (both sides)
  • Note: desired number of birth certificates (3 free certificates + ...)
  • Note: postal delivery or collection?
  • Telephone number or e-mail address (optional)


We also require the following original documents, depending on the marital status of the child's mother:

Unmarried mother of child

  • if available, acknowledgement of paternity and declaration of custody

Married mother of child

  • Marriage certificate

Divorced mother of the child

  • Marriage certificate with note of divorce or with final divorce decree
  • if available, acknowledgement of paternity and declaration of custody

Widowed mother of child

  • Marriage certificate with death certificate or death certificate of the last spouse
  • if available, acknowledgement of paternity and declaration of custody


Please hand in all documents at the hospital at the time of the birth. The documents will of course be returned to you after notarisation.

In the course of notarising the birth of your child, it is also possible to acknowledge paternity at the registry office in Rüdersdorf bei Berlin. However, a declaration of custody can only be made at the Youth Welfare Office.

Foreign nationality of parents 

We will advise you on all the necessary documents, preferably before the birth of your child.
