Public information event on the development plan for the Hennickendorf biomass centre (BSR)
A public information event on development plan no. 53 "Biomass Centre Hennickendorf" will take place on 24 February 2025. The aim of the event is to present the background, objectives and current status of the planning as part of the early public participation (in accordance with Section 3 (1) BauGB).
The responsible planning department of the municipality will begin by explaining the procedure for drawing up this development plan. Representatives of Berliner Stadtreinigung (BSR) will then present the project and explain the current planning status. The facility has been owned by BSR since 2018 and has been modernised considerably since then. A development plan needs to be drawn up for the planned further modernisation. After an initial resolution to draw up the plan failed at the beginning of 2024, a new, amended application was approved by a majority of the municipal council on 19 December 2024. As part of the consultation on the resolution to set up the site at the aforementioned meeting of the municipal council, the question arose as to whether the development plan should create the basis for all of Berlin's organic waste to be transported to the Hennickendorf biomass centre. This possibility was expressly ruled out by the project developer.
After the project presentation, there will be an opportunity to ask questions and make comments and suggestions on the development plan.
The preliminary draft of the development plan, including the explanatory statement and the environmental report, will remain on public display until 17 March 2025. Inspection is possible at the town hall of the municipality (Bürgerbüro, Hans-Striegelski-Straße 5, 15562 Rüdersdorf bei Berlin) as well as during the office hours of the local mayor in the former town hall of Hennickendorf (Tuesdays from 4 to 6 p.m., Hennickendorf municipal office, Berliner Straße 3, 15378 Rüdersdorf bei Berlin). The preliminary planning documents are also available online (see: https://www.ruedersdorf.de/meine-gemeinde/bauen-und-wohnen/bauleitplanung and https://bb.beteiligung.diplanung.d e/plan/bplan53biomassezentrum).
Comments should preferably be submitted electronically by e-mail to planung@ruedersdorf.de.
