Communication from the district of Märkisch-Oderland dated 15/02/2024
With the publication of the new Ordinance on the Quality of Water for Human Consumption (Drinking Water Ordinance - TrinkwV) 2023, the public health department draws attention to the corresponding notification obligations.
According to the new Drinking Water Ordinance
- own operated wells used to supply the household with drinking water (drinking water supply systems) and
- own wells that are intended for the withdrawal or supply of water that is not of drinking water quality and is connected in addition to the public drinking water supply in the household,
in accordance with § 11 (obligation to notify drinking water systems) and § 12 (obligation to notify non-drinking water systems) of the German Drinking Water Ordinance (TrinkwV2023).
Every owner/operator of such a well must notify the Märkisch-Oderland district health authority of how your household is supplied with drinking and non-drinking water. Also whether you operate a drinking water supply system and/or a non-drinking water system in addition to the central drinking water connection or as the sole water supply without an additional central drinking water connection. To do this, please fill out the relevant form on our website (Citizens' Service; Forms; Department II; Health Department; Hygiene and Environmental Medicine Department; "Form for notification of a non-drinking water system") in a legible form and send it back to the Märkisch- Oderland District Health Department, Puschkinplatz 12, 15306 Seelow. Water from domestic wells that is used as drinking water in accordance with Section 2 of the Drinking Water Ordinance is also subject to the monitoring provisions and quality requirements of the Drinking Water Ordinance.
"Drinking water" within the meaning of this ordinance is water that is intended for the following purposes, among others:
- to drink,
- for cooking and preparing food and drinks,
- for body care and cleansing,
- for cleaning objects that are intended to come into contact with food (consumer goods),
- for cleaning objects that are intended to come into contact with the human body on a more than temporary basis, or
- for other domestic purposes relevant to human health
NOTE:
Any person who intentionally or negligently fails to submit a notification, or fails to submit it correctly, completely or in good time, contrary to Section 11 (1), (2) sentences 1, 2 or 3 or (3), Section 12 sentence 1, Section 47 (1), also in conjunction with Section 47 (2), or contrary to Section 53 (1), is committing an administrative offence within the meaning of Section 73 (1a) no. 24 of the Infection Protection Act.
