Press release 2024/01 of the municipality of Rüdersdorf near Berlin
To commemorate the victims of National Socialism, the municipality of Rüdersdorf near Berlin invites you to a memorial event on 27 January 2024 at 10.30 a.m. at the memorial on the colonists' cemetery (Straße der Jugend 8, 15562 Rüdersdorf near Berlin).
The event will be accompanied by music from Ilya Ananyin on the saxophone. In addition to the speech by Mayor Sabine Löser, there will be contributions from the Heinitz-Gymnasium Stolpersteine working group and Renate Radoy.
This year's commemorative event has been organised by the municipality under the motto of the philosopher Theodor W. Adorno: "I am not afraid of the return of the fascists in the mask of the fascists, but of the return of the fascists in the mask of the democrats."
Mayor Sabine Löser explains: "I cordially invite everyone in our municipality to take part in this year's commemorative event. The latest revelations about the secret meeting, at which inhuman fantasies were developed, show that the spirit of that time has not disappeared. Let us remember together where such ideas led. The commemorative event offers a worthy framework in the election year 2024 to show a clear stance at an early stage."
