Following a decision by the state government of Brandenburg, all daycare centres and schools will be closed from Wednesday, 18 March 2020 until the end of the Easter holidays (19 April 2020).

The district published a general ruling (a binding instruction) on 17 March 2020. Contrary to yesterday's announcement by the district, emergency care can now only be provided if BOTH parents, in the case of single parents, the single parents are working in so-called critical infrastructure AND home or other individual or private care cannot be organised.

Critical infrastructures according to the general ruling are:

Safety and order

Administration of justice and correctional services
including the prison system and the penitentiary system

Public utilities and waste disposal companies

Transport and traffic
Rail, public transport, petrol stations, logistics

Food supply
Nutrition from wholesale warehouse to retail, food producers, food processing companies, agriculture

Public administration

In order to use the emergency childcare, it is mandatory to fill out a form, which is handed out in the daycare centres and schools and is also available for download on the website of the municipality of Rüdersdorf bei Berlin.

The food is ordered centrally by the relevant facilities.

The municipality of Rüdersdorf bei Berlin is currently examining a possible reduction or waiver of daycare fees and will provide separate information on this.
