The municipality of Rüdersdorf near Berlin invites you to a picnic on the Peter-Lübkes-Brücke on Friday, 19 June 2026, from 6 pm. This summer picnic has become a popular tradition in recent years and has long been a fixture in the municipality’s calendar of events. At Rüdersdorf’s longest picnic table, guests can once again look forward to a convivial get-together in a special atmosphere on the approximately 160-metre-long footbridge over the Kalkgraben.
Once again this year, the Schöneich-based artist “Langschlenderer” will be providing the musical accompaniment. As a looping multi-instrumentalist, he creates a unique musical backdrop using various instruments, rhythmic layers and spontaneous soundscapes. His live performance unfolds piece by piece before the eyes and ears of the audience, creating a relaxed atmosphere on what we hope will be a balmy summer’s evening.
As usual, the tried-and-tested principle applies at the Brücknick: all guests bring their own food and drink. Whether it’s a picnic basket, an evening meal or some tasty treats – anything that tastes good is allowed. The local council provides tables and benches so that families, friends, neighbours and acquaintances can sit together and enjoy the evening.
The Brücknick offers an opportunity to chat, make new friends and experience the special atmosphere on the Peter-Lübkes-Brücke. The parish looks forward to welcoming many guests and to a convivial summer evening in the open air.
Background:
The wooden bridge in the town centre was completed in 2011 after a four-month construction period and replaced its predecessor from 1912, which was in danger of collapsing and had to be dismantled in 2002. Since 2022, the bridge has also visibly borne his name and commemorates Peter Lübkes. He was the head of the municipality from 1886 to 1915 and played a key role in shaping the development of Rüdersdorf for almost three decades.
Please note: In the event of bad weather, the event may be cancelled at short notice.
