On Tuesday, Building Minister Detlef Tabbert handed over 1.43 million euros in funding from the "Vibrant Centres" and "Social Cohesion" programmes to the municipality of Rüdersdorf near Berlin.
1.2 million euros of this will go towards the renovation of the listed "Martin Andersen Nexö" cultural centre. The funds will be used for the construction work that will soon begin to dry out the building.
Mayor Nolte explains:
"I am delighted that we have received the next funding for the renovation of our cultural centre today. In keeping with this, I have signed the first contracts for the second construction phase so that the first visible measures in the exterior area can begin soon and the draining can start. We will be reporting regularly on the progress of construction work on our website over the coming months. Our aim is to ensure that the Acropolis can be used by the people in the community again as soon as possible."
A further 230,000 euros are available for the "Wohngebiet Brücke" development area. The funds will be used, among other things, for planning the rear development of the Rüdersdorf school campus and for the continuation of neighbourhood management.
