New play equipment inaugurated for the Sonnenschein daycare centre in Hennickendorf

Last Friday, 6 December 2024, the Sonnenschein daycare centre in the Hennickendorf district was proud to receive a new piece of play equipment. Despite the pouring rain, the children did not let it stop them and put on a small, but exquisite programme. The highlight was the ceremonial handover of the new climbing tower by Mayor Sabine Löser and village head Norbert Pose, during which the children removed the symbolic ribbon from the equipment. After the handover of the play equipment, the children were able to warm up with children's punch under the tents that had been set up. As soon as the weather permits, the children at the centre will also regularly use the play equipment.

The climbing tower represents a further step towards improving the outdoor design of the daycare centre, especially the front kindergarten area, which was previously rarely used in everyday daycare. In addition to the climbing tower, the Sonnenschein daycare centre also received a new balancing device this year.

The climbing tower is made from recycled composite material. This material is not only environmentally friendly, but is also characterised by high durability and low maintenance, which reduces follow-up costs in the long term.

The municipality is thus continuing on its chosen path of modernising the municipal daycare centres and improving the infrastructure.
